Plum roaster- The quick and easy way to prepare plums

Zwetschgenröster Rezept der Woche H&H Shop

Hurray, it’s plum time!

It is mid-September and we are in the middle of plum season! The sun-ripened fruits are now hanging ready for harvest in many orchards. They shine in rich colours and just looking at them makes you want to make homemade jams or a delicious plum roast.

Zwetschgenröster goes well with many sweet dishes. For example, with rice pudding or Kaiserschmarrn or how about Zwetschgenröster with delicious curd cheese and poppy seed dumplings?

The plum roaster itself is really quick and easy to prepare – like all our recipes, actually.

And you only need three ingredients for the plum roaster:

500 g pitted plums
200 – 250 g Cane sugar
100 ml Lemon juice

Simply put the plums in a saucepan with the cane sugar and lemon juice and mix well. Then simply set aside for at least 10 minutes and allow the plums to release their liquid. Then cook over a moderate heat for about 20 minutes until creamy. Keep stirring to make sure nothing burns.

And your plum roaster is ready. If you like, you can refine it with a pinch of cinnamon. Depending on what you eat the Zwetschgenröster with, it will go well.

And, what do you combine the plum roaster with?
