Sunset at the Hochgruben

I really like being on the road alone with my bike. But what I like even more are the tours with my son. I’ve already told you about one of our trips here.

Today I brought you a few impressions from our weekend together. We were out and about in the Carnic Alps. We enjoyed the sunset at 2,538 m on the Hochgruben. The Carnic Alps lie exactly on the border between Austria and Italy.

We spent the night at the Sillianer Hut. It is located at the beginning and end of the Carnic ridge and offers an incomparable view of the Pustertal valley, the Sesto Dolomites, the Ötztal, Stubai and Zillertal Alps, the Villgrater mountains, the Venediger and Glockner regions and the Lienz Dolomites.

But actually we weren’t here for the good view of the mountains, although the sunset was also really worth seeing. My son Emil and I had something very special in mind: Watching shooting stars. After all, August is the best time of the year to see them flashing in the sky.

What did we wish for? That will not be revealed!

Warm regards
