We have already introduced you to some of the most beautiful farmers’ markets in South Tyrol. We would like to provide you with more useful information. Today we start with the markets in Eppan an der Weinstraße.

Appiano on the Wine Road (Appiano sulla Strada del Vino) is the sixth largest municipality in South Tyrol and can be compared to a small town. Appiano lies on the South Tyrolean Wine Road in the Überetsch region southwest of Bolzano. The municipality consists of several villages that blend into the Überetsch landscape. Some of the villages have their own farmers’ market. We have created an overview for you.

Wochenmärkte in Eppan an der Weinstraße

Mondays

The weekly market in St. Pauls takes place every Monday in the village centre of St. Pauls | Eppan. Numerous traders sell clothing, leather goods, household goods, regional products and much more.

Tuesdays

The weekly market in St. Michael takes place every Tuesday in car park 2, opposite St. Michael’s primary schools. Numerous traders sell clothing, leather goods, household goods and much more.

In addition, the farmers’ market takes place every Tuesday on the town hall square in St. Michael | Eppan. Home producers, i.e. South Tyrolean farmers, offer customers fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese and other regional products.

Thursdays

The weekly market in Girlan takes place every Thursday in the car park opposite Despar in Girlan | Eppan.
Numerous traders sell clothing, leather goods, household goods, regional products and much more.

From the peasant kitchen: Schlutzkrapfen (doughnuts)

Have you always wanted to know how the typical South Tyrolean Schlutzkrapfen are made? Ricky, the expert from Eppan, will show you exactly how to make the dumplings with various fillings at home. Together you’ll buy the ingredients at the farmers’ market, then it’s off to the kitchen, where rolling pins are wielded and pans clatter. Finally, enjoy the traditional dish together with a suitable wine accompaniment.
