Farmers’ markets are very traditional here in South Tyrol. In the past you could even buy and sell cattle at the farmers’ markets, nowadays you can find fresh produce from the many farms in the region.
So there are freshly harvested vegetables and seasonal fruit directly from the farmers. In addition, food produced by the farmers themselves is offered, such as jams and honey, cheese, wine, juices, bacon and sausages and much more. You can also find more and more organic products there.
The weekly markets, on the other hand, also offer household goods, clothes and handicrafts.
Here is a small selection of the most beautiful farmers’ markets in South Tyrol for us:
St. Pauls/Eppan, Brixen, Terlan, Toblach
St. Michael/Eppan, Neumarkt, Prad am Stilfserjoch, St. Jakob/Leifers, Lana
Kaltern, Bruneck, Auer, Deutschnofen, Mals, Salurn
