Gsieser Tal Lauf

19 – 20 February 2022 – 38th edition

Are you a cross-country skier? If so, you have certainly heard of the GsieserTal race or perhaps even taken part in it. It is one of the most popular and best-known ski marathons in the entire Alpine region. It is also the second largest ski marathon in Italy.

The GsieserTal Lauf has taken place every year since 1984 on the 3rd weekend in February in the Gsiesertal valley in the Kronplatz holiday region. Only in 2021 was it cancelled due to force majeure (Corona).

“He who runs long, lives longer.”

Since the first edition, this legendary South Tyrolean sporting event has recorded 68,025 “finishers”. Participation is very international, with around 40 nations from all over the world taking part every year. Many world champions and Olympic champions appear on the roll of honour. The race is run over distances of 30 km and 42 km, on Saturdays in classic style, on Sundays in skating style. For all those who just want to run for fun and not for time, there is even a “Just for Fun” group, … The supporting programme also includes the “MINI-Gsieser” on Saturday, in which children can take part.

Registrations for the Gsiesertal Lauf will be accepted until Sunday, 20.02.2022. You can find all information about this and the run on the website of the GsieserTal Lauf.

And for those who prefer to watch from their sofa at home, RAI Sport will broadcast the skating race on 20.02.2022 from 12:50 to 14:50. 20 minutes of Saturday’s diagonal race will also be broadcast.

We wish all participants a great race and all spectators a lot of fun!
