Follow the call of the Three Peaks

Die drei Bergobelisken der Drei Zinnen in den Dolomiten

Last week the mountain – or rather the Three Peaks – called me. And I followed this call once again with my mountain bike. Even though the Three Peaks are practically on my doorstep, they are always fascinating and I always discover new views and details.

So, in glorious mountain-biking weather, I set off for the three mountain obelisks. Did you know that the Große Zinne measures 2,999 metres, the Westliche Zinne 2,973 metres and the Kleine Zinne 2,857 metres?

But the Three Peaks are not only an invitation to mountain biking. You can also hike, climb or simply take a walk here. For an overview of the various paths and routes, I can recommend the Three Peaks website. Everyone will find a suitable tour here.

South Tyrolean strengthening at the Three Peaks

Of course, such a tour with the mountain bike – but also without – makes you hungry. Since the hosts of the Dreizinnenhütte still had their hands full with preparations for the season opening on 26 June 2021, I simply brought my own snack. A little bread, some Kaminwurzen and cheese cubes and some vegetables. Typical South Tyrol.

Next time I’m sure I’ll stop at Milka & Hugo Reider at the Dreizinnenhütte, which will be open until 26 September 2021. From the large panorama terrace you have a unique view of the Three Peaks and the Paternkofl.

Have a good time
