Mountainigloo – In the middle of the snow

Sem Himmel so nah! Mountainigloo

You’ve never slept like this before!

A night in an igloo, the silence of the mountains, maybe a starry night. That sounds dreamlike, doesn’t it? But it doesn’t have to remain a dream at all, because on the Speickboden in the beautiful Ahrntal valley, that’s exactly what’s possible.

Romance, the silence of the mountains and the solitude high above the Ahrntal enclose you for one night. And it even becomes luxurious.

The igloo village on the Speikboden in the Ahrntal valley is worth a trip for all those who are looking for a very special adventure in the snow.
Sauna, heated winter pools and mountain views are available directly in the igloo garden. Let yourself be enchanted by the winter sky.

Here you experience wellness in a different way: in direct contact with nature, letting go suddenly comes naturally. Your adventure starts in the afternoon; after check-in you can trudge with snowshoes into the twilight over the mountain to the rustic Trejer Alm. The way there takes about 30 minutes and in clear weather conditions you can look forward to a magnificent play of colors including alpenglow. For the way back, it’s best to pack a headlamp.

Then there is already dinner in the snow restaurant. Here you will be served a three-course meal. You sit on snow benches, which are covered with sleeping mats and sheepskins. If you still feel cold, you can get a blanket. Afterwards, sauna and pools – heated wooden tubs – are open to watch stars or snowflakes and enjoy the first hours of the night outdoors. The rooms in the igloo with sleeping bags and sheepskin must be experienced for yourself.

The next morning a rich breakfast buffet awaits you in the nearby mountain restaurant in the warm parlor.

Life is better outside.
