The Merano Grape Festival 2021

Meran im Herbst zum Traubenfest 2021

Tradition in Change – from 16 to 17 October 2021

Every year since 1886, the Merano Grape Festival has been a moment of joy and thanksgiving for the good harvest in autumn. Year after year, South Tyrolean customs are lived and shown here.

On Saturday and Sunday, 16 and 17 October 2021, a wide variety of initiatives will present the authentic and young face of the historical festival.

Due to the current situation, there will be no parade this year. So that you can still marvel at the most beautiful floats, they will be set up on various squares in the city:

  • “Kundschafter” (Giant’s Grape) on the spa promenade.
  • “Marlinger Krone” at the Sandplatz
  • “Merano city coat of arms” in Sparkassenstrasse
  • “Trauttmansdorff Castle” on the Thermae Square

A great programme at the Merano 2021 Grape Festival

Local products at the Merano market, autumnal dishes with influences from north and south, fine wines from Burggrafenamt and Alpine music – also of an experimental nature – are on the programme.

Concerts by South Tyrolean music bands will take place on the Kurhaus terrace on both days.

On Saturday evening, the most famous brass band in the world – the Black Dyke Band – will be in the Kursaal: a hot tip for brass lovers.

On Sunday, South Tyrolean choirs will sing in four different places in the city and at the South Tyrolean Herb Day on Thermenplatz, local producers will present a wide variety of herbs and spices.

I wish you much joy and great impressions
