From Moos to Klammbachalm – By bike or on foot

Von Moos zur Klambachalm, per Rad oder zu Fuß

Farmer’s grub on the Klammbach

At the foot of the 2,580 m high Hollbrucker Spitze, the Klammbachalm is situated in a sunny location. Here you will be warmly welcomed by Hannes and Martina and their team in summer and winter and spoiled with delicious typical specialities.

The hut is a very popular destination for hikers and mountain bikers. There is a beautiful hiking trail from Moos to the Klambachalm. It has a good 600 metres of altitude difference and is 11.5 kilometres long. This makes it an excellent place to stop for lunch.

Here are some directions for you

At the church of Moos in Moos on the short Nemesstraße uphill on the east side between the houses, then on the wide forest path (marked 13) first briefly through meadows and then always through forest only slightly uphill to the fork, where the wide path to the Klammbachalm branches off to the left; on this now follow the signpost “Klammbachalm” in about 0:30 hours through forest and mountain meadows moderately uphill to the Klammbachalm.

The descent is on the same path as the ascent. If you want to make it even more comfortable, you can also take the cable car from Sesto up to the “Stiergarten” and follow a path suitable for prams to the hut.

The Klammbachalm is open in summer as well as in winter

In summer, the Klammbachalm is open from the end of May to the end of October. Surrounded by lush meadows that offer enough space for children, the breathtaking panorama invites you to linger: on the opposite side of the valley, the legendary Dolomite peaks are majestically enthroned. In winter, the Klammbachalm is open from December to Easter. There are not only homemade dumplings, Kaiserschmarrn or Yougurt. I opted for a nice hearty Bauerngröstel. Absolutely recommendable!
