If you are in Bressanone in the weeks before Christmas, you will feel the very special atmosphere that emanates from the city at this time. And at the latest when darkness falls and the city with its many small streets is illuminated by thousands and thousands of lights, you can no longer escape the pre-Christmas atmosphere.
Added to this is the smell of mulled wine made from regional ingredients, the smell of warm soup and Christmas cookies and doughnuts. It’s not only tourists from all over the world who are attracted. Locals also flock around Domplatz square, where the Christmas market with its wooden huts invites visitors to stroll and feast from the end of November until Epiphany.
Special emphasis is placed on the regionality of the products offered. All the goods on offer were either made in South Tyrol or refined here. Wood carvings, nativity figures, handmade pottery, painted glass baubles as well as Tyrolean gifts and Christmas decorations. Bressanone lives tradition.
And tradition has also the Bressanone Christmas Market at the Cathedral Square, which takes place this year for the 30th time.
Framed by the Cathedral, St. Michael Parish Church and City Hall, it is one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in South Tyrol. From 26 November 2021 to 6 January 2022.
